My practice room is based along Borough High Street; a few minutes walk from London Bridge or Borough Underground stations. The room is comfortable and private in a relaxed informal environment. It is an excellent location for anyone living or working in this region but is also within easy reach of the City and Canary Wharf areas.
Booking an Appointment
You can contact me either by e-mail or telephone. I am happy to offer a short initial consultation to answer any questions you have about beginning therapy.
The First Session
The first session typically lasts for an hour and subsequent treatment sessions last for around 50 minutes. It offers the opportunity for you to describe your difficulties as well as identifying the things you would like to work on in your sessions and agree the outline of a treatment plan. The type of therapeutic approach used would depend on what works best for you according to your particular needs as well as taking into account what is clinically indicated for your issue.
How many sessions will I need?
This varies from person to person and according to the issues being worked on and their intensity. People often come for short term therapy which on average lasts for around 10 to 12 sessions but I also see people for shorter as well as longer term on-going therapy.
Is my session confidential?
In accordance with the BABCP ethical codes of conduct sessions are entirely confidential. You may, if you wish provide informed consent for your information to be shared with your GP, family member or other health care provider. The only exceptions to usual confidentiality rules is if it was felt that you may pose a risk to yourself or others or if your notes were requested by a court of law. In such circumstances every effort would be made to discuss this with you first and seek your permission.
Gail is recognised by most major private insurance carriers including BUPA, AXA PPP Healthcare, Vitality, Simply Health, Cigna, Aviva and WPA. I am able to offer sessions by Skype if required.
